deep tissue massage
A deep tissue massage is applied on the connective tissue layer of the body, where among other things, emotions are stored. This layer is placed between the muscles and the skin. This massage is a reflexzone massage. There are zones in the body that are connected with organs, glands and other bodyparts. By stimulating these zones the corresponding organ is stimulated and (emotional) blockages can be removed.
The techniques that are being used vary from light effleurages to the picking up and rolling the skin. By these movements the skin and the underlying tissues are being stimulated. The blood circulation of the skin increases and enhances the underlying tissues. This takes away adhesions in the tissues. Because the nervous ends are surrounded by tissue, these are stimulated too because of the massage. This stimulus not only works on the nerve, but on other bodyparts as well.
